Karlovy Vary Film Festival is waiting its visitors
Print E-mail
Between 2-10 July this year, in the Czech town of Karlovy Vary, movie fans for all over the world are waited to the 45th edition of the film festival.  On this occasion, since the end of the March, it was created a web page and a Facebook account, offering up-to-date news and other relevant information about the festival.

All those interested could find out what is the prospective composition of the jury, what movies are to be expected to be displayed and other practical information.

The festival was created in 1946 aiming to outline the cultural potential of the - then - Czechoslowak film industry and was considered for years a valuable tool in shaping the local cultural identity - a Central European country, with a rich tradition, forced to support the consequences of being placed on the wrong side of the Iron Curtain. The aura attributed to the festival offered various benefits to the town of Karlovy Vary itself, as being considered one of the most interesting and posh locations in the former communist block.

The website is mentioning the more or less recent history of the festival, the main partners and any other resources regarding the events. The readers are announced that "all information appear in advance on these webpages", hence the need to signup for free newsletters and updates. For those interested to attend on various qualities - journalists, representatives of the industry, individuals passionate about movies - there are several useful information. Various pictures and youtube selections are available, as well as the option to "like" the festival on Facebook and to receive further daily updates.
